Education at the AAMU stands for:
- Interactive guided tour
- Pupil involvement and activities (for all levels)
- Intercultural dialogue
- Dual language education (English and Dutch)
For each exhibition the AAMU develops new educational programmes for primary and secondary schools. These programmes involve multiple themes. In the current programme for Nomads In Art pupils will look at the difference between western and non-western. The key question is “What is your view on the world”. The main goal is to present pupils with different views and interpretations. Pupils will receive a guided tour, a workshop and attention will be paid to presentation techniques.
Especially for classroom presentations and assignments the AAMU has prepared an information package (in Dutch) about Aboriginal art, geography, styles of painting, use of materials, the Dreamtime and symbols.
The AAMU can help you prepare a visit or organise a tailor-made activity for your school. To discuss all options, please e-mail us at info@aamu.nl for further information. You can also contact us by telephone from Tuesday till Friday from 1.00 to 4.00 p.m.
